Thank You

The Axtell National Honor Society would like to thank everyone who supported the Scholastic Book Fair this year. This is a very important event for us each year. In addition to being our main fundraiser, it promotes reading for all students which is a key to academic success, one of the four Pillars of the National Honor Society. Our All for Books drive had 2 main pushes. The classroom challenge and the lollipop pull at the fair. These two activities raised $135.00 which we used to purchase 18 books for classrooms here. Scholastic will match that amount to provide books to needy families nationwide. The winning class in the competition was the 1st grade who brought in donations of $55.

Art Room News

The art room is a busy place and many times projects are only hung on the bulletin board or shown in the lobby for a short period of time. I have created a website so all students, parents, grandparents, fellow educators, and community members can see what has been happening in the art room. I will be whiting out or cropping off all names that appear on projects, therefore you will have to ask your children which project is theirs. If your child's artwork is not posted with the rest of the class, it most likely has not been finished yet or was handed in at a later time. The web address is http://artinaxtell.weebly.com/ I hope you enjoy viewing you children’s artwork. Mrs. Webb
