Storyteller Comes to Axtell Elementary

The Axtell Elementary, K-4 grades, had the chance to hear stories by Mr. Bil Lepp on Wednesday morning, January 18th, in the music room. Mr. Lepp told two wonderful stories about his elementary teachers. The students and teachers all laughed at his presentation. We have been so very fortunate that our Principal Bill Gilbreath, puts this in our curriculum for the second semester when the Kearney Area Storytelling Festival brings in storytellers from various places around the United States. Thank you again to Mr. Gilbreath and the Axtell School Board for providing this wonderful experience for our students. Mrs. Lindau, Mrs. Frerichs, Mrs. Black, Mrs. Marsh, and Mrs. Dimon

100th Day for 2nd Grade

On Thursday, January 26th the second grade class celebrated the 100th day of school. We did several math activities and games to celebrate this milestone.

Letter P in Preschool

To learn the letter P, the Preschool kids had a lot of fun wearing pajamas to school and bringing a favorite pillow. Mr. Gilbreath arrived in the room in his pajamas to read a story called PYJAMA DAY by Robert Munsch. In the story a boy finds the perfect pajamas and sleeps all through school. When the Principal arrives, he puts on the pajamas and falls asleep.

Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and we would like to encourage those parents who want to give gifts to their children to do so at home. The process of having gifts delivered to school creates a disruption in the school day and can lead to hurt feelings for many students. This applies to birthdays and special occasions as well. Thank You for your cooperation and sensitivity in this matter.
