The Axtell Community Fund, an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation, invites you to join them for: Coffee and Donuts Saturday, July 29th at 10:00 am. Axtell Fire Hall A short presentation will be given as well as taking questions regarding the newly formed Axtell Community Fund and how it might impact the community. The Red Cloud Foundation Fund will be available to share how their affiliated fund has affected their community. Sports Physicals

***Your student athlete will need a sports physical before he/she can participate in sports in the 2017-2018 school year. Please call your family health care provider for an appointment Now. **Also, if your child has allergies (to any food or medication), or has asthma, your doctor needs to sign an Action Plan form. Parents of 2017-18 Kindergartners

Please turn into the school office a copy of your child's birth certificate, immunization records, physical and vision examination forms. We would appreciate having these turned into the school office by August 1st.

Axtell Public Library

Axtell Public Library Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m - 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Closed on Friday Every Third Saturday - 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Kids are welcome to come all day to read, use the computers, Wii, tablets, etc. Toddler Time - The Axtell Public Library will be having “Toddler Time” on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Ages 1-5 are welcome. Possible activities will be reading stories, playtime, snacks, and learning how the Library works. Come to the Library and have Fun!! ! Congratulations to both the 8U Softball and 12U Black Softball Teams on winning the league championship with undefeated seasons! Congratulations to each of 4 baseball teams, 4 softball teams and one pre-school Hometown T-Ball team on their seasons. 2017-2018 Battle of the Books, ESU #11

2017-2018 Battle of the Books, ESU #11 This program has students read books from a booklist throughout the school year and complete activities. Students who have fulfilled the criteria then meet one day at the ESU. This past year, students were able to skype with authors and competed on the books they read. Band News

Band News: Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students, I am writing this letter as a reminder of the upcoming band camp at Axtell Community School. Camp is mandatory for all 7-12 grade band members. Band camp this year runs from July 31st- August 4th from 9:00 - 11:30 am. All students should meet in the band room at 9:00 sharp. We will have a lot to do and time will go fast. Below is a list of items to bring to camp: Water Comfortable clothes (school appropriate) A hat (if you want one) Sunscreen Sunglasses Gym shoes (no sandals) Instrument A smile and great attitude I chose the song Misirlou by Tim Waters as our parade marching song. Blood Drive

Presbyterian and Trinity Lutheran VBS

Trinity Lutheran Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School on July 10-12 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Supper will be served at 5:00 p.m. each evening. Ages 3 thru 6th grade are welcome. Come and learn about "The Heroes of the Bible."
