Following is a list of scholarship applications that are currently available on Mrs. Hoyt’s website (rhondahoyt.weebly.com). This list is continually updated as new applications are received. Seniors and/or their parents who have signed up receive an announcement on Remind every time a new application is added. If you would like information on how to sign up for Remind, contact Mrs. Hoyt.

Glenwood Telephone Membership Corporation GTMC Scholarship For graduating seniors who are continuing their education at an accredited 4 year college, community college, or technical/trade school. Applicant or parents/guardians must receive GTMC telephone service. Due in Counselor's office March 31. GTMC

Chet Linder Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is for a current graduating senior intending to continue his/her education. The recipient may select any college or university, but must intend to major in business or a business related field. Due March 1. Chet Linder

Future Problem Solving Program Scholarship For graduating seniors with at least two years’ experience in FPS. Due March 1. Nebraska FPS

Phelps County 4-H Foundation There are six scholarships available, one in the amount of $2000 and up to five additional in the amount of $1000, to past or current Phelps County 4-H members. Due April 1 Phelps 4-H

Nebraska State Association of Secondary School Principals (NSASSP) Region IV This scholarship is for a senior who wants to pursue education (ideally secondary education) as a major in college. Due Jan 25. NSASSP Region IV Student Scholarship 

Nels and Lucille Winther Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is for any graduating senior in Kearney County who plans to attend any accredited 2 or 4 year college. Committee will be considering academic achievement, participation in extra-curricular activities, record of good citizenship, character, attitude toward education, community service and financial need. Due in Counselor's office March 1 Winther Memorial

2017 Cabela's Women in Leadership Scholarship This scholarship is for any female student graduating from a Nebraska high school in the spring 2017 and planning to begin college in the fall 2017. Due February 6. Huge Foundation

Jim Hurlbert Memorial Baseball Scholarship This scholarship is for Nebraska American Legion Baseball players who are in their last year of eligibility and/or a graduating senior. Must show financial need and attend school at a Nebraska college or university. Due June 15 Jim Hurlbert

Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is for graduating seniors who have a parent, grandparent, or great grandparent who is a veteran and member of the American Legion. Other criteria are to attend a college or university in Nebraska and be able to show financial need. Due March 1 Maynard Jensen

Phi Gamma Delta White Owl Scholarship This is for an incoming male student to UNK. Eligibility is based on academic performance, leadership, community involvement and your answer to the application question. Membership in Phi Gamma Delta is not a requirement. Due April 28 White Owl

Elks Past Exalted Ruler Scholarship Eligibility--any high school senior, no restrictions on the type of school you will attend, emphasis on need. Due January 15, 2017. Past Exalted Ruler

J.B. Ferguson Golf Scholarship Eligibility--completed application, participant in high school golf and plan to participate in a college golf program, 2 or 4 year school. Due January 15, 2017. Ferguson Golf

Nebraska State College System Freshmen Scholarships For a complete listing of NSCS scholarships and applications go to NSCS. Deadlines vary, many are renewable and are for all three state colleges. (Chadron, Wayne, and Peru)

Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association There are 2 scholarships here. The NRCSA for students who are planning to become a teacher, counselor or media specialist and the Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship for a student who excels in fine arts and is planning to major in fine arts. Application is due to Mrs. Hoyt January 15. NRCSA

Nebraska Coaches Association/Country Inn and Suites Scholarship Upper 25% of class –OR-3.75 Cumulative GPA, 2) Must be at least a 2 year participant in 2 sports, 3) Must have earned varsity letter in 2 sports, 4) Must include at least one letter of recommendation from a high school coach, 5) ACT minimum score of 24 Due April 17 Application link

Phelps County Community Foundation There are several scholarships in this group that pertain to Axtell students. Applications are due Feb 16. Application link

Axtell Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department Scholarship For an Axtell student. Primary emphasis is on volunteerism. Fire & Rescue Due April 1

Lillie Mae Krick Memorial Scholarship Must be resident of Kearney County for at least 2 years, enroll in a Nebraska college, university or tech school, have at least a C average. Lillie Mae Krick Due March 1.

Axtell Student Council Scholarship This scholarship is for a graduating senior at Axtell. Due to Mrs. Webb April 1. STUCO

Merryman Scholarship For a resident of Kearney County graduating from Minden or Axtell Public Schools. Due April 4 Merryman
