3rd Grade Truffula Trees

The third graders took part in a special STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) project during Read Across America week in honor of Dr. Seuss's book The Lorax. They were challenged to build two Truffula trees using a ball of clay, cotton ball, 8 toothpicks, and 20 marshmallows that met special criteria. They could work alone or in small groups. We had many successful trees by the end of the project!
