Senior Scholarships

The following is a list of the scholarship applications currently available on Mrs. Hoyt’s website ( This list is constantly updated.

Vivint SmartHome Scholarship In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria: · Student must be a high school senior or college student, and a legal resident of the United States · Student must be enrolled in school no later than September 30, 2017 · Winner is not based on financial need · Applicants required to submit a video (1-2 minutes long, see “Make A Video” tab on the website) · Student must be planning on or already enrolled in one of the eligible majors listed in the Scholarship Official Rules · Winner of the scholarship must be living in the United States This is a $5,000 Scholarship and includes many majors, check it out before you count it out. Due April 1. Vivint Nebraskans for Peace Scholarship Nebraskans for Peace is offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors. Three $500 scholarships and six $100 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who wish to pursue a college education. The awards, based upon written essays, will be evenly divided among the three congressional districts. The recipients will be students who wish to further their education in an area consistent with the mission of Nebraskans for Peace: peace with justice through community building, education and political action. Due April 8. NE for Peace Nebraska Mayflower Scholarship Scholarship applicants must be a resident of Nebraska and a U.S. citizen. Applicants will be evaluated by a written essay, GPA and class rank, ACT or SAT scores, honors received, school or volunteer activities, employment, demonstrated leadership and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor. Mayflower ancestry is NOT a requirement. Due March 31. Mayflower Sara Nelson Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is for a graduating senior at Axtell Community School, for use at any college, any program of study. Due April 1 Application James L. Dimon Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is for a graduating senior at Axtell Community School. For use at any college, any program of study. Two will be awarded Due April 15. Application Kearney Area Community Foundation has information on scholarships available to Axtell high school seniors. Ft. Kearny Conference Future Educator Scholarship Fund, Kearney Area Chamber Ag (Paid out in the Second year), Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce Mark Benjamin Building Opportunity Scholarship Due April 1 Applications and eligibility information available Here CPI Cares Scholarship Program CPI offers several several scholarships in two categories. One is for the dependent of a CPI patron and one is for the dependent of a current full-time employee. Both are targeted for graduating seniors or students in the first or second year of post secondary education. Due March 31. Application is online here.

Glenwood Telephone Membership Corporation GTMC Scholarship For graduating seniors who are continuing their education at an accredited 4 year college, community college, or technical/trade school. Applicant or parents/guardians must receive GTMC telephone service. Due in Counselor's office March 31. Glenwood fillable Phelps County 4-H Foundation There are six scholarships available, one in the amount of $2000 and up to five additional in the amount of $1000, to past or current Phelps County 4-H members. Due April 1 Phelps 4-H Jim Hurlbert Memorial Baseball Scholarship This scholarship is for Nebraska American Legion Baseball players who are in their last year of eligibility and/or a graduating senior. Must show financial need and attend school at a Nebraska college or university. Due June 15 Jim Hurlbert Phi Gamma Delta White Owl Scholarship This is for an incoming male student to UNK. Eligibility is based on academic performance, leadership, community involvement and your answer to the application question. Membership in Phi Gamma Delta is not a requirement. Due April 28 White Owl Nebraska Coaches Association/Country Inn and Suites Scholarship Upper 25% of class –OR-3.75 Cumulative GPA, 2) Must be at least a 2 year participant in 2 sports, 3) Must have earned varsity letter in 2 sports, 4) Must include at least one letter of recommendation from a high school coach, 5) ACT minimum score of 24 Due April 17 updated Application Axtell Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department Scholarship For an Axtell student. Primary emphasis is on volunteerism. Fire & Rescue Due April 1 Axtell Student Council Scholarship This scholarship is for a graduating senior at Axtell. Due to Mrs. Webb April 1. Student Council

Parents must be members of Booster Club Due April 7 Booster Club Axtell Chamber of Commerce Scholarship This scholarship is for graduating seniors at Axtell Community School. Due April 1 Application
