3rd Graders Go to North Platte
The third graders went on their end-of-the-year field trip to North Platte. We had a very eventful day. Our first stop was The Golden Spike Tower where students learned about the world's biggest rail yard and other interesting facts about the history of the railroad. Our next stop was a picnic lunch at Cody Park. We took some time to view the animals they have at the park...geese and ducks, deer and elk, buffalo, llamas, and peacocks just to name a few. Then we were off to the Buffalo Bill Cody Ranch. We have been doing biography studies on famous cowboys and cowgirls, so it was fun to see real-life things that once belonged to Buffalo Bill Cody. We then stopped for ice cream and souvenirs before ending our day riding bumper boats and go carts at Cody GoKarts. We were very lucky to get a beautiful day. Thanks to Mr. Swartz for driving the bus, Mrs. Ramirez, Mrs. Swartz, Mr. Hinrichs, Mrs. Arner, and Mrs. Sis for going along as class sponsors. It was a fabulous day full of memories the kids will remember for a long time!
