Newsletter Header

Dear Axtell Community School members,

I hope most of you have heard that we now have our own APP. You can download this in the

app store and find it under ACS Wildcats or search Axtell Wildcats. I would suggest you allow

getting notifications to your phone.

As we head into April, we know it is a busy time of the year for everyone. We have a lot of

information for parents from the office. Also, please know the calendar set out at the

beginning for the year is always tentative dates. To have the most accurate information please

call us at the school or look at the online Axtell Community Schools calendar for updated

information.

State Testing

***Important information. Grades 3-8 will begin to NSCAS test for our state testing. Please

make sure you talk with your student the importance of this moving forward. They have put in

a lot of hard work and they get a chance to show off and do great.

Reward Day

REWARD DAY

We have chosen Friday, May 6th as our Reward Day.  We will be going to the Hastings YMCA.

We will depart for Hastings at 8:15 a.m. (after the morning bus routes), and we will return

around 2:15 p.m. (before the afternoon bus routes).  Look for more information in regards to

this late April.

WHAT TO BRING

The school will provide lunch and admission to the Hastings YMCA.  A complete list of the items

to bring or not bring will be sent out at a later time.

HELP NEEDED

We need help supervising students at the Hastings YMCA.  We need 4-6 parent volunteers, so

there will be 1-2 sponsor for every 10 students.  If you are willing to help supervise, please fill

out the attached page and return it to school by Thursday, April 28th.

AQuESST

This is older information as Covid has changed many things. The hope is to get back on track after this school year to share new classifications. Below is information regarding the AQuESST classifications. Classifications are determined by many factors that include: educational opportunities, college and career ready, etc.… You can get more information at their website in regards to the 6 tenets for success. https://aquestt.com/ It is our goal to keep improving as a school and preparing students for the next chapter in their life. We are fortunate to have a hard-working staff that are always putting the needs of our students first. School systems are always working hard as we have to embrace changes to improve. A few things you will see coming next year include: our new MTSS program in the elementary, more college offerings to our high school students, and the continuous alignment of curriculums. Also, we are always looking at ways to work with and involve our community so do not be afraid to reach out to us here at school. https://nep.education.ne.gov/s... https://axtellaquestt.weebly.c...

Kindergarten

Mrs. Lindau is currently working on a packet of information to send home regarding kindergarten for the 2022-2023 school year.  We no longer host a kindergarten round-up due to so many students attending our preschool program, however she will be offering some opportunities for your child to visit prior to the school year.  If you have a child who will be 5 prior to July 31, 2022 and plans to attend kindergarten in Axtell please let us know so that we can make sure you receive a packet.

Graduation

Graduation is about to be upon us.  It is set for Saturday, May 14th at 2:00PM.  We will have graduation practice on Friday, May 13th. Information is being mailed out to parents.

Here at Axtell Community Schools we look forward to serving our students, staff, and patrons.  If you have any questions please stop in or shoot me an email at jeff.schwartz@axtellwildcats.org

Thank You,

Mr. Jeff Schwartz
