Library Programs
Axtell Community School Library is a space designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading. Our program supports students and teachers through access to a wide range of print and digital resources, hands-on learning opportunities, and technology integration that prepares students for success in today’s connected world.
Students visit the library regularly to:
- Explore books that match their interests and reading levels
- Participate in programs such as Battle of the Books, makerspace projects, and digital storytelling
- Learn information literacy skills—how to find, evaluate, and use information responsibly
- Use technology tools including iPads, coding robots, and creative design software
- Collaborate on classroom research, media projects, and presentations
1. Borrowing Books
- Students may check out up to 3 books at a time. K-1st may check out 1 book, 2nd may check out 2 books at time.
- Books are checked out for 2 weeks and may be renewed if no one else is waiting.
- If a book is lost or damaged, please contact the librarian to discuss a replacement.
2. Library Behavior
- Be respectful of others—use indoor voices and take care of materials.
- Technology and makerspace tools should be used responsibly and returned after use.
3. Technology Use
- Devices and internet access are for educational purposes, handle with care.
- Follow school digital citizenship and acceptable use policies.
4. Makerspace & Media Projects
