5th graders celebrated finishing their read aloud of “The Witches” by Roald Dahl. Their morning was filled with several fun stations! At the first station they were challenged to sort different Halloween themed figurative language cards. The second station included guessing what was REALLY inside the Bat’s Brains, Dracula’s Dentures, Ghost’s Guts, and Toad’s Tongue containers by feeling and not looking. They wrote a persuasive essay whether they think Miss Kirschenmann is a witch or not and had to include reasoning and evidence. Next, they wrote a fictional roll the dice spooky story and wrote about what Miss Kirschenmann should be for Halloween. They also challenged themselves to see how many adjectives they could come up with to describe a pumpkin and then added the words to the pumpkin. Lastly, they played a a Kahoot over the book.
They also enjoyed Formula 86 Delayed Action Mouse Maker to drink, of course! They should be turning into mice tomorrow…. 🤪

Wearing RED in preschool for Red Ribbon week!
Thank you for organizing all the fun days and learning.

Best of luck to the FFA members who are traveling to Indiana for The National FFA Convention and Expo. National FFA will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana October 26- October 29.
